Mustache, paws, tail. The most colorful races of the game world. Part 1.
Bring something new to fantasy racial canons and go beyond the established tee of the Elf-Gno-Gno difficult task, akin to creating a new IP. It happens that it looks like an inept work of a student on a notebook sheet, bursts out of memory, and then thrown into a garbage basket crumpled lump.
The recent righteous indignation of the Larian studio regarding the Kutzvous use by players of opportunities for creating a character forced me to recall – and whether the developers often give us the will to conquer in the editor in attempts to create something interesting and unusual, emerging from the usual framework? Annoying, but this is a rarity and there are more valuable examples become more valuable.
Let’s remember those games where the creators allowed themselves to get out of the framework of the prevailing canons, creating small -town and richently unique races. I will take the first part to those cases where we are free to grow virtual tails for ourselves and become covered with scales, but without going down to nine MMO circles.
Kunari, Dragon Age: Inquisition
For three parts of DA, Kunari https://nonukonlinecasinos.uk/ has changed a lot, but the developers managed to get well and weave it into an ENT. In Origin, we meet one representative of this race – Stan, with the opportunity to take him to the group. Outwardly he is indistinguishable from a person, except more than larger. The second part suddenly represents them with strong horns, in no way like our old companion. The fact is that Kunari are ardent followers of the Kun religion, but representatives of any race and gender can join it, although this is more likely an exception. Horned design is generally the only thing (besides Varrick, of course!) that the DA2 brought good, may Andraste merge over it. But the Inquisition is not only to introduce us to an incredibly charismatic iron bull, and also let the Inquisitor-Kunari sit on the throne.
God -like, Aumaua and Orlan, Pillars of Eternity
God -like – the most mysterious race in the game and my new favorites. Frequent creatures, the appearance of which is distinguished by growths, closing eyes, feathers on the body, halo and a lot more. Can be born with representatives of any race and are divided into five types: deadly, fiery, lunar, natural and birds.
Aumaua (mantra, flies directly from the tongue) – powerful, mostly friendly, semi -water. Have sharp shark teeth, which makes their smile irresistible. Depending on living, there are island and coastal Aumaua.
Eagles – sort of warlike feathered hobbits. Few communicate with anyone, live mostly apart, of which good rangers and druids are obtained.
Undead and lizards, Divinity
From any race you can get undead. Logical, simple and wonderful. My choice. Although, due to the presence of some kind of intelligence, it would be more correct to attribute to the eternal, because the vast majority of undead are unreasonable.
Lizards in Divinity are not much like Argonian, very arrogant. Behave like dragons.
Rodiana (Rodians), Zapki, Twi-Kilki and Kel Dores, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Of course, you can talk about a wager with a stretch (the genre is still not RPG), but for the game of that time there is a good editor and you can make yourself a colorful Jedi. It is strange that all four races of the moratorium on choosing a floor. Of course, the game is knocked out a little from the canvas – the star wars have an old and famous ENT, although the Academy is not a canon.
